Coach Burt a True Inspiration
Learning to "play up" is a concept Coach Micheal Burt constantly emphasizes to his staff and anyone around him.
Its one thing to speak about these principles but what separates Coach from other leaders is he lives these actions out everyday.
I have been around many types of leaders throughout my young career both as a collegiate athlete and as a worker with prominent companies like the Grand Rapids Press and the Nashville Sounds, but being around Coach Burt on a daily basis is unlike all others. Among many traits his first-class character is what truly distinguishes from other leaders.
That character shined through Friday night as Coach Burt spoke to an audience of over 3,000 during the Smithville graduation and as always his message was delivered strong. But what he did after his commencement speech is what speaks volumes about his character.
He went out of his way to stop in at the Woodbury Concert Series, which he is also sponsoring, after a full day of work because it was the right thing to do. After the concert wrapped up Coach went backstage to personally thank the Fairfield Four in their participation with the concert series.
It’s moments like these that I'm fortunate to be able to "play up" and surround myself with the Coach Burt's of the world.
Coach, on behalf of your staff thanks for being world-class in all that you do.
