Young man turned entrepreneur after reading "This Ain't No Practice Life"

“Service is the rent we pay to live on this earth.”

When Coach Micheal Burt sat down for dinner in late July he was caught off guard while watching Channel 4 News Tonight and a young entrepreneur mentioned “This Ain’t No Practice Life” as the inspiration behind him starting a business.

Shay Horseman, a former Middle Tennessee State pitcher, read Coach Burt’s “Seven Decision to Play at a Different Level and began to put them to use every day. The results, according to Horseman, “I began to apply the message and one particular statement stuck: ‘5 years from now we will be the same person we are today except for the books we read and the people we meet’.

Coach Burt reached out to Horseman the next day and were able to meet this past week to discuss the book’s impact and Horseman’s company “365 Baseball Academy”.

“The way I ran across the show is I was coming back from a weekend trip and turned it to 1510 WLAC and listened to Coach and the "Failing Forward" message really caught me,” said Corley, 36. “When he said people are raised for success but they really should be raised for failure and how to take that failure to excel made sense to me. Even though I had never heard the show before when the offer to have lunch with Coach was stated I jumped at the chance because the best way to be successful is to speak with people who are successful. I am always interested in speaking with people who have the intelligence and the guts to be an entrepreneur.”

Coach Burt Speaks to TAUD

Coach Burt Builds Brand and Expands Impact with Radio and Publishing Partners

Coach Micheal Burt launches Radio Show on WLAC 1510 and agrees to publishing deal with Franklin Green Publishing focused on expanding his message and audience.

Murfreesboro, Tenn.—Coach Micheal Burt specializes in turning dreams into reality and the next chapter of his story continues to personify that idea. Over the last year, Coach Burt asked how he could bring his message to a larger audience, connect his message in a way that would create positive change in people and organizations and be recognized as the leadership expert in Tennessee. He knew that a radio show would provide an opportunity to do what he had dreamed about and began to ask individuals connected to the radio industry how he could turn this idea into a reality. Through a mutual friend, Coach Burt was introduced to Donna Britt, of Nashville based, DBR-Media creating the first step of many in solidifying a show concept and finding a broadcasting partner. The Coach Micheal Burt Radio Show debuted on Sunday, May 23rd and continues to draw new listeners each week.

Coach Burt Speaks at CAI Luncheon

Mobile_Upload Coach Micheal Burt spoke to the Community Associations Institute (CAI) on Friday at Maggiano’s in Nashville. Nearly 100 guests were in attendance to hear Coach Burt speak on his seven decisions to play at a different level.
